Brief on the Organization:
Indian Institute of Public Health Gandhinagar (IIPHG) is a University established under IIPHG Act, 2015 of Gujarat State. It offers courses in the field of Public Health. It also undertakes various research projects in the field of Public Health. The university is established by Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) with support from the Government of Gujarat, Department of Health & Family Welfare.
Brief
IIPHG is a Resource Hub for Health Technology Assessment, supported by the Department of Health Research, Government of India. The purpose of HTA is to support informed policymaking, and economic evaluation forms one of the core components of HTA studies. The Hub is contributing to establishing the transparent and comprehensive mechanism of HTA for prudent and better allocation of resources, ensuring better equity in and access to healthcare in India.
Deliverables:
To develop and lead a significant policy-relevant health economics research programme underpinned by a strong methodological and conceptual background.
Teaching Health Economics to Master level program students
To obtain funding from major funders and manage a productive research team undertaking significant research projects.
To contribute to institutional and staff development in health economics research across the Institute
Coordinate with the HTAIn team at the Department of Health Research, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, GoI.
Develop and Formulate econometric modelling like Decision and Markov models.
Review, critically appraise, and synthesise prior systematic reviews in health technology assessment literature
To lead activities to raise the internal and external profile of health economics in the Institute
To oversee and participate in doctoral supervision and examination
To demonstrate research leadership and promote and ensure compliance of self and others with good practice about the conduct of research, the ethics policy, and other relevant policies.
Any other activities as assigned by the PI or supervisor.
Qualification :
PhD in Health Economics OR Pharmacoeconomics OR MD-PSM with relevant experience in Health Economics. PhD from other discipline will be considered provided the candidate has a strong experience of working in the domain of Health Economics & Outcome Research or Health Technology Assessment.

PhD in Health Economics
Experience:
Minimum (07) Seven years of experience working in domain of HTA or Health Economics.
Desirable:
Working experience with State And/OR District Health systems is required.
Working experience with the Regional Resource Centre for Health Technology Assessment (HTA RRC) OR Conducting Health Technology Assessment studies.
